How we cook it

Every plate is cooked to order. The chicken is halal (halal slaughter, like all our meat and poultry), seared and then finished in the spiced pepper-and-onion sauce so it stays tender. Because we run a wood-fire and charcoal grill alongside the hob, the chicken keeps a genuine cooked-over-fire depth you don't always get with a curry.

All our meat and chicken are halal, so families who eat halal can order the Jalfrezi with confidence. Pork is only prepared on request in a separate area with dedicated equipment, so it never crosses paths with your curry. We should be straight with you, though: Hawaii is also a bar. We serve alcohol — over 30 cocktails, with a Happy Hour from 19:00 to 20:00 — so if you'd prefer a completely alcohol-free setting, it's worth knowing that before you arrive.
