At Hawaii Restaurant & Bar in Side old town, the Margarita is our take on the classic agave cocktail: tequila, Cointreau and fresh lemon juice, served cold at the bar. It's a sharp, citrus-forward drink poured fresh to order — a bright, grown-up way to start an evening out in Side old town.

What the Margarita is at Hawaii

Three things go into our Margarita, and that's the whole story: tequila, Cointreau and lemon juice. No secret syrups, no long list of extras — just the agave backbone of the tequila, the orange lift of Cointreau, and the clean bite of citrus pulling it all together. It's built to be crisp and refreshing rather than sweet, which is exactly what you want after a warm afternoon walking the harbour.

One honest note worth flagging: a lot of Margaritas you'll meet elsewhere lean on lime. Ours is made with lemon juice — that's the pour at Hawaii, and it gives the drink a slightly rounder, softer citrus edge. If you were expecting the sharpest possible lime version, this is our house version, and plenty of guests prefer it that way.

How we serve it

Every Margarita is made fresh to order behind the bar, so it arrives cold and lively. We work with fresh ingredients daily, and that carries through to the juice in your glass rather than something poured from a mix. You'll taste the tequila and Cointreau clearly, framed by the lemon — a short, punchy drink meant to be enjoyed while it's icy.
