Restaurant Near the Beach in Side — Where to Eat After a Day by the Sea
There's a particular kind of hunger that arrives around six o'clock after a full day by the sea. You've had the swim, the sunbathe, the walk along the shore, maybe one too many ice creams. The salt is still on your skin, your appetite has quietly turned enormous, and what you really want now is to sit down somewhere unhurried and eat properly. That's the moment Hawaii Restaurant & Bar was built for.
We're not going to pretend to be a beachfront shack with your toes in the sand — we're honest about where we are. Hawaii sits in the heart of Side old town on 512. Sk., a short and easy walk back from the shoreline. That little bit of distance from the water is exactly what makes it work: away from the beach glare and the crowds, in the calmer lanes of the old town, you get a real table, a real kitchen, and a proper evening rather than a paper plate on your knees.
The natural end to a beach day
The best beach days end slowly. You drift off the sand, rinse off, change out of your swimwear, and wander into town as the light softens. Side's old town is made for exactly this — pedestrian lanes, warm stone, the smell of cooking drifting out of doorways. Hawaii is right in the middle of it, so you can stroll over without a plan and without a car.
Because we're open daily from 10:00 until 02:00, there's no rush and no wrong time. Come straight off the beach for a late lunch, settle in for a long dinner as the sky turns, or roll in later for cocktails and something off the grill. The kitchen doesn't shut early, so a leisurely beach day never has to become a scramble to find food before everything closes.
Lighter first, if the sun took it out of you
A long day in the heat doesn't always call for a heavy meal straight away. If you want to ease into the evening, start light. Our Season's salad, Greek salad and Shrimps salad are exactly the sort of fresh, crisp plates that go down easily after hours in the sun — ingredients prepped fresh daily, nothing weighing you down. If you're travelling with kids who are sun-tired and picky, there's a proper children's menu plus alcohol-free kids' cocktails (Spider Man, Barbie, Redkiss and the Hawaii Cocktail) to keep everyone happy. Want more ideas? Our guide to salads in Side walks through the lighter end of the menu.
Then the real reason to sit down: the grill
Once your appetite properly catches up with you, this is where Hawaii earns its place. We cook over a real wood fire and charcoal grill — not gas, not a flat-top imitation. That live fire is what gives our steaks, lamb chops, chicken skewers and mixed grills their char and depth. If you've worked up a serious hunger, this is the meal to reward it with. Read more about how and why we cook this way in our piece on the wood-fire and charcoal grill in Side, or browse our steak guide if you already know it's a steak kind of night.
Prefer something simpler and shareable after the beach? Our pizzas are thin-crust Italian style, 33cm, blistered in the oven and easy to split across a sun-tired table. From a classic Margherita to the house Hawaii, they're the low-effort, high-satisfaction end of the menu. See the full range in our best pizza in Side rundown.
Close the day with a cocktail
No proper beach-to-dinner evening is complete without a good drink in hand. This is where the Hawaii name really lands. Order a Blue Hawaii, a Pina Colada, a Sex On The Beach or a classic Mojito and let the day wind all the way down. If you time it right, our Happy Hour runs daily from 19:00 to 20:00 on selected drinks — the perfect golden-hour slot to raise the first glass. There's a whole world to explore on our cocktail bar guide.
Staying farther from the centre?
Not everyone is a stroll from the old town. If your hotel is out along the coast, you don't have to give up on a proper sit-down dinner. We offer free hotel pickup and drop-off from selected hotels, and an affordable two-way transfer for guests staying farther out — so a beach day at your resort can still turn into a real evening in town. Details are on our free hotel pickup page. And if you'd rather not go out at all after all that sun, takeaway is always available and we deliver to nearby areas too.
Save yourself the wait
Side old town gets busy in the evenings, especially in high season, and the after-beach crowd all arrives at roughly the same hungry hour. If you already know you're coming, it's worth booking ahead so your table is ready when you walk in salty and starving. Reserve through our reservation page or message us on WhatsApp at +90 533 930 12 83 — a quick text is all it takes. However you've spent the day by the sea, we'll have somewhere good waiting for you when you're done.
