When walk-ins are perfectly fine

Most of the time, you don't have to plan anything. We're open daily from 10:00 to 02:00, all year round, so there's a lot of room in the day. If you're a couple or a small party of three or four turning up for a relaxed lunch, an afternoon coffee, or an early dinner, just come. Quieter periods — weekday lunches, the shoulder months either side of high summer, and the first hour or two after we open — are almost always no-stress for walk-ins.

If your heart is set on a specific spot, though (a particular corner, a table near the karaoke bar, or a good view of the live sport screens for a big match), booking ahead is the only way to be sure. We won't invent a "fully booked" story to pressure you — but we also can't promise a specific table to someone who hasn't asked for it.

When you really should reserve

There are a few clear cases where booking ahead turns a good evening into a smooth one:

• Birthdays and celebrations. If you want a cake moment, a good table and a little fuss made, a heads-up lets us prepare properly rather than improvising on the night.
• Peak summer evenings. Side old town gets busy after sunset in high season. A booking means you're not standing at the door hoping a table frees up while your kids get hungry.
• Anytime you want hotel pickup. This is the big one. We offer free round-trip pickup from selected hotels, plus affordable two-way transfers for guests staying farther out. That has to be arranged ahead of time so a car is scheduled for your pickup slot — you can't organise it as a walk-in. Whichever you choose, a few practical tips make it painless: book earlier in the day for the same evening when you can, mention any high chairs or kids' seats you need, and always include your hotel name if you want pickup — it's the single most important detail for us to arrange your ride.

What if I've got a special request?

Reserving ahead is also the moment to flag anything out of the ordinary. Planning a Chateaubriand dinner for two? That's a dish worth mentioning so the kitchen's ready. Travelling with fussy little ones? Tell us and we'll have the kids' menu and alcohol-free children's cocktails (Spider Man, Barbie, Hawaii Cocktail and more) on standby. Got a gluten or vegan question? Just ask your waiter — our kitchen will advise you honestly about the simpler grilled and salad plates rather than overpromising.
